National Children’s Theatre Workshops:

Children are the future of a nation. So their proper mental & physical growth is necessary. Only with the academic approach of education, mental growth of children is not possible. In this connection, cultural activities can play an important role. Drama being a strong cultural media is playing an active role in this regard.

 

PTA has been organizing national children's theatre workshops regularly since 1991. PTA arranged more than 600 Children Theatre Workshops where 270 groups took part. Before learning how to performs, children to know some basic tips about theatre and various exercises. For this, they need special workshops on theatre performances.

 

PTA regularly conducts theatrical workshops for children. Workshops had been arranged with the intention of developing the children through theater and make them expert in theatre works. Children as well as parents and community people participated in the workshops.

 

 

Regional Children’s Theatre Workshops:

Regional workshops had been arranged with the intention of developing the children through theater and make them expert in theatre works. Before learning how to performs, children to know some basic tips about theatre and various exercises. For this, they need special workshops on theatre performances.

 

PTA regularly conducts theatrical workshops for children. In 2008 under CVP of RAKHAL worked in 11 different regions of the country, which indicates the acceptance of the project by local people. School going children were mostly attached with the project this year. 27 regional theatre workshops took place with 26 schools and 10 other children theatre groups. Children as well as parents and community people participated in the workshops and 177 teachers were trained up to continue theatrical works in their schools.

 

In addition, PTA arranged more than 200 Regional Children Theatre Workshops. These workshops took place in Nababganj, Jamalpur, Feni, Jessore, Dinajpur, Gazipur, Munshiganj, Chittagong, Shylhet, Hobigonj,  Kishorgonj, Sirajganj, Bogra, Rongpur, Parbotipur, Setabgonj, Birol, Panchogor, Rajshahi, Kustia, Foridpur,Jinaidha, Khulna, Potuakhali, Borishal and many more.

 

 

Youth Theatre Workshops:

PTA is always concerned about the betterment of children theatre movement in our country. Following this, PTA has organized national and regional youth theatre workshops regularly.

 

Following this, People’s Theatre Association (PTA) started youth theatre activities across the country as a leading organization in this sector from 2005. PTA arranged more than 200 Youth Theatre Workshops where College Theatre, University Theatre and more then 50 Youth Theatre groups took part. 

 

Performance art workshop:

PTA basically promotes children and young people in theatre activities, now we are trying to expand its activities in other fields of arts. PTA arranged 10 'National Performance Art' Workshop to increase arts knowledge for children artist, youth artist and organizers.

 

With such a truth, People’s Theatre Association (PTA) started a revolutionary movement in January 1990 for development of Children’s mind, awareness, and building and integrating the children’s theatrical activities throughout the country, which ultimately give rise to a proper shape of movement. To reach the target, PTA organized all the children’s groups of the country under one umbrella – PTA and from then on conducting regular programs suitable for the development of children’s mind and theatre movement. 

 

Playwright / Organizer / Guardian Workshop:

The children's drama movement is not limited to festivals. PTA arranged 20 Playwright Workshops. Playwrighters from all over the country participate in this Playwright workshop to compose children's plays.

 

Drama workshops for children have aroused an unprecedented response in the country's theater Movement. PTA has organized workshops and seminars for organizers at the Divisional and regional level. In addition, PTA has organized workshops with teachers, parents and social workers at different times with the aim of increasing involvement with children's drama. PTA arranged 35 workshops for Teachers & Parents.

 

 

Directorial Workshop:

PTA arranged 100 ''Directorial Workshops'' where theatre directors from all over the Country participated. Direction workshop has been organized for 'Children Drama Directors' with the participation of representatives of children theatre groups.

 

 

Technical Workshop:

10 Technical Workshops were arranged by PTA to make theatre activists equipped as to make maximum use of limited resources i.e. lights, costumes, sets, music and props etc.

 

 

International Exchange of Children’s Theatre (IECT):

PTA in associate with RAKHAL is particular in its mission of developing children theatre activities in the society and for this, workshops by foreign experts have been arranged every year. Under this program, Foreign Theatre Experts are invited to conduct various workshops and seminars related to children’s theatre in our country.

 

Pantomime Workshop:

Under the project of Children’s Voice a workshop was held on How to apply Pantomime in Children’s Theatre from 4-6 December 2005 at the Theatre Lab of Banani, Dhaka. 20 members from people’s Repertory Theatre, the core group of RAKHAL took part in that workshop. The workshop was conducted by Bo William Lindstrom and Louise Ulrika Mannerfelt from Sweden.

 

Workshop on Circus Circus Game:

A follow up workshop was arranged by PTA in association with RAKHAL, 50 children participated in this workshop that continued for a month long. They produced a production Circus Circus Game.

 

Workshop on Acting:

A workshop on acting was held from 18-24 August 2006 at the Theatre Lab of Banani, Dhaka. 23 actors and actress of people’s Repertory Theatre took part in that workshop. The workshop was conducted by renowned Swedish Director Mathias Lafolie who also directed the play Shwapner Bhubon performed by the core team of RAKHAL.

 

Then the 2nd time again, A workshop on acting was held from 27 to 30 September 2007 at the Theatre Lab of Banani, Dhaka. 30 children from different children theatre groups took part in that workshop. Mr. Debshankar Haldar, a theatre expert from Nandikar, India conducted the workshop.

 

Workshop on Mask & Clown:

A 6 day long workshop on Mask & Clown was conducted by two Swedish experts Per Sorberg and Annalena from 1-6 May 2007. 18 members from RAKHAL’S core team participated in that workshop.

 

Workshop on puppet Theatre:

A 6 day long workshop on Puppet Theatre was conducted by two Swedish experts Annika Arnell and Helena Nelsson from 26 June-1July 2007 at Theatre Lab, Banani. 22 members from different theatre groups participated in that workshop.

 

Workshop on A Child’s Point of View:

A workshop on acting was held from 27 July to 31 August 2008 at the Theatre Lab of Banani, Dhaka. 25 directors and performers from different theatre groups took part in that workshop. Mr. Bosse Lindstrom and Ms. Marie Feldmann, theatre experts from Sweden conducted the Workshop.

 

Workshop on Theatre Pedagogy:

A workshop was done on How to lift up Children’s Voice through drama in education and theatre by two eminent theatre personalities Nina Kjallquist and Asa Ekberg Kentros from Sweden. 35 children from a school participated in the workshop along with 22 performers from RAKHAL’S core team.

 

Joint workshop by Docteatern Titut:

A tremendous workshop on How to use Puppet and Shadow Theatre for the Kids had been arranged for RAKHAL and Rupantor in Khulna. Twelve Actors from the core team of RAKHAL participated in that workshop. The workshop had been conducted by Docteatern Titut of Sweden.
